I am a tomato grower living in the north of England. The climate here is not congenial for outside tomatos, still less for cucumbers.
That is why I have a greenhouse and one of those plug-in electric fire things with a thermostat built in, for those early spring nights when the tender plants need heat.
At the height of summer, they appear: red tomatos in early July. This blog is how I do it.
